The state commandant, Sani Mustapha, declared the retraining programme open on Tuesday at the NSCDC State Command headquarters in Gusau, the state capital. He said the aim is to instill professionalism and discipline among the personnel of all the PGCs in the state.

Mustapha emphasised the need for retraining and professionalism and intelligence gathering amongst the private guards.

He said NSCDC is saddled with the core mandate to register, train, supervise, monitor and checkmate the activities of all private guard companies in the nation as contained in section 3 of the 2003 and 2007 Act as amended.

“It is to this end that the Corps has packaged a two-week training and retraining exercise for the Private Guards in Zamfara State”, he said.

Mustapha, opined that the PGCs professional conduct could help reduce insecurity in the state; hence, the Corps is poised to turn out well-disciplined security professionals amongst the PGCs.
