Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has partnered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to register 2,500 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Kogi Central.

The registration process will be conducted on the spot and offered at a reduced rate of N11,000 per SME. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has generously agreed to cover the entire cost of N27,500,000 for the registration of all 2,500 SMEs.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and the CAC established a partnership during a meeting at her office in the National Assembly, Abuja. This collaboration aims to support small business owners in meeting the government’s registration requirements and to foster business growth and development in the region.
The registration drive is set to commence soon, with a special conference planned to bring together key stakeholders in the business ecosystem.

This conference encourages synergy and collaboration between regulatory bodies, the Bank of Industry, and other relevant entities, ultimately fostering business growth and development.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also expressed her commitment to organising an additional conference which will focus on educating and informing business owners about the significance of registration and the benefits of compliance.

In response to the partnership, the CAC team commended the initiative as a significant step towards promoting the ease of doing business in Nigeria, aligning with the Commission’s mandate under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020.

The CAC has implemented various measures to simplify the registration process, reduce costs, improve digital infrastructure, and offer incentives for business registration, all of which contribute to facilitating business operations in the country.
