Abia State government has expressed concern over the rise in vandalisation of public schools’ properties in the state, warning that the perpetrators will surely be prosecuted.

The commissioner for information and culture, Okey Kanu stated this while briefing the press on the conduct of this week’s Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti in Umuahia, the capital.

“We found out that people are busy trying to vandalise public schools’ properties in the state and this ugly trend needs to be stopped,” he noted.

Kanu said it was unfortunate that such attitude was taking place against the background of the effort the government was making to bring reforms in the education sector.

The commissioner warned those behind the urgly development to retres their steps in their own interest as the government is fully prepared to deal with them accordingly.
