Nasarawa State governor Abdullahi Sule has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tractor Limited to establish an assembly plant in the state.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs said the MoU was signed yesterday in Abuja.

He said it would be one of the hallmark achievements of the administration.

“The partnership aims to enable the company to use the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI)’s facilities in Lafia to assemble tractors.

“With the gesture the company will be providing affordable and high-quality tractors to farmers in the state, enhance agricultural productivity and mechanisation as well as create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the state, among others,” Mr Ahemba stated.

He said Governor Sule had earlier facilitated an agreement between NASENI and Bobtract Tractors to use the agency’s facilities in Lafia to assemble tractors.

“Signing of the MoU marks another significant milestone in the state government’s efforts to attract investors in the state, transform the agricultural sector and promote economic development,” he noted.

He said Governor Sule expressed his delight at the partnership, stating that it aligns with the state’s agricultural development strategy and vision to make Nasarawa State a leading agricultural hub in Nigeria.

According to him, the company is expected to roll out its first set of tractors within 120 days in the first instance.
