N-Power Beneficiaries Forum in Kano has called on President Bola Tinubu to consider giving beneficiaries permanent and pensionable appointments.
The call was made in Kano during a press conference led by the forum’s chairman, Nazifi Muhammad Abubakar.
He said the forum had written a letter to the Kano State government asking it to consider giving them permanent and pensionable appointments. The letter was refused, but supporters of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) led by Halimat Adenike Tejuosho came to their mercy, assuring them that the government would look into their case.
As a result of this, the group also called on the president to consider appointing her as Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation due to her immense contribution to the programme.
They also praised her for offering 15 scholarships to Kano indigenes to study in various fields, including science and engineering.
“In light of this milestone, the N-Power beneficiaries forum respectfully urges President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider the appointment of Dr Halimat Adenike Tejuosho as the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
“Dr Tejuosho’s unwavering commitment and support to the N-Power beneficiaries and the less privileged in Nigeria have been exemplary, making her an ideal candidate for this crucial role.
“However, it is also worth noting that Tejuosho has been given money out of her pocket to assist people, especially those with disabilities, youths, and the less privileged.
“We, the Kano State youths, assure you when Tejuosho is appointed as minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the APC will win both presidential and gubernatorial seats in the forthcoming election in 2027. Our appeal to you, sir, is to consider our request to appoint Tejuosho as minister for her tireless assistance and her profound commitment to the development of humanities,” Nazifi said.
