President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the attack on former U.S. President Donald Trump, stating that such violence “goes beyond the pale of democratic norms.”

In a post on his official X handle on Sunday, Tinubu emphasised the importance of peaceful political processes in democratic societies.

He also offered condolences to the family of an unspecified deceased individual and expressed hopes for a quick recovery for those wounded in the incident.

The Nigerian president further affirmed Nigeria’s solidarity with the United States during this time.

He said, “The attack on former President Donald Trump is distasteful and goes beyond the pale of democratic norms. Violence has no place in democracy.
