Executive secretary of the agency, Dr. Sola Akande, said this furthers Governor Seyi Makinde’s integrated approach to education in the state.

Akande who made this known during a courtesy visit to the chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, noted: “This visit is very timely as the agency is ready to embark on the enrolment and validation of 10, 000 pupils who will benefit from the Oyo State health insurance policy.”

Akande maintained that the pupils would benefit immensely from the agency’s insurance programme.

Responding, OYOSUBEB chairman Adeniran promised that the board would take the enrolment exercise.

Adeniran opined that this would be the first of its kind in the country and will be a model for other southwest states going forward.

Adeniran set up a 6-man committee between the two agencies to work out modalities for the implementation of the policy and expedite actions on it.

He added that the insurance policy will be flagged off in September when a new session resumes.
