263 Terrorists Surrender To MNJTF

No fewer than 363 Boko Haram terrorists and families surrendered to troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Cameroon between July 10 and 17, 2024.

A statement by the military public information officer, Lt-Col Abubakar Abdullahi, said troops of sector 1 on 11 July 2024 received five terrorists in Wulgo, on the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

According to the statement, preliminary information revealed that the surrendered terrorists hailed from Tumbuma and Kutumgulla in Marte local government area of Borno State.

On the same day, 50-year-old Malum Kori Bukar who escaped from the Jibilaram hideout surrendered to the troops.

Again, on 11 July, 19 terrorists surrendered in the village of Madaya, extreme North Cameroon, and another 11 surrendered in Wulgo from the Tumbuma hideout in two waves.

The statement said 64 terrorists comprising six adults, 20 women, and 38 children surrendered to troops on 12 July 2024 in Bonderi, Cameroon.

Furthermore, on 13 July, 27 more terrorists surrendered.

Another 102 terrorists comprising 20 adult male,40 women and 42 children surrendered to troops in Bonderi, Extreme North Cameroon on 15 July 2024.

Five terrorists surrendered to troops in Wulgo on 16 July 2024, with two coming from the Tumbuma hideout, southern Lake Chad while another two more terrorists surrendered same day.

On 17 July 2024, 48 terrorists comprising 10 adult males, 15 females, and 23 children surrendered.

The statement said preliminary investigation revealed that all the 48 surrendered individuals belong to Nigerian communities and therefore, subsequently handed over to the troops of Operation HADIN KAI for further action.
