Over 343 youths were trained by the commission to acquire skills that would enable them become self-employed and contribute to national development under the Youth Transformation Program (YTP).
Managing director/chief executive officer of the commission, Abubakar Yelwa, represented by Mr. Pam Davou, said the youths had been trained for six months on solar panel, CCTV installation, crops and livestock production, fashion designing, fish farming, event management, furniture making and many others.

He advised the beneficiaries not to sell their starter packs to anybody, but to make good use of them to improve their businesses in order to become employers of labour.

According to him, the aim of the training is to empower the youth who are leaders of tomorrow, stressing that the commission was partnering with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to assist in the registration of the businesses of those trained.
