The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP) chapter has elected Nazif Abba Pali of the Department of Mass Communication as its new chairman.

Others elected include Auwal Abdullahi as vice chairman, Musa Ibrahim as general secretary, Ibrahim Sule Fanti as assistant general secretary, Comrade Sama’ila Ali as treasurer, Engr Muhammad Sa’id Saleh as financial secretary, Aminu Azare as publicity secretary and Mahmud Sa’idu Badara as welfare secretary.

Announcing the results of the election which took place yesterday, the chairman of the electoral committee, Malam Musa Yakubu, said Malam Nazif scored 114 votes to defeat Malam Rabiu Ibrahim who scored 100 votes and Malam Sa’idu Ali who scored 85 votes.

The new chairman expressed gratitude to God and his colleagues for their trust in him to lead the union.
