Popular social media critic Martins Vincent, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has issued a warning to Nigerian phone vendors against inflating prices for the newly released iPhone 18 series.

In a viral video recorded inside an Apple Store in China on September 10, 2026, the commentator warned gadget dealers against overcharging local consumers under the guise of foreign exchange rates or shipping costs.

“Before you double the price, remember that VDM is in China. I will spoil the market, and you will cry,” he said in the video broadcast across social media platforms.

VeryDarkMan stated that if local vendors refuse to sell the new devices at reasonable profit margins, he will bypass them by sourcing the phones directly from manufacturers in China to sell in Nigeria at factory prices.

He added that his market research in China revealed a significant price gap between the original cost of production and the retail rates charged by Nigerian tech importers.
