The Delta State government has banned the sale of lands in disputed boundary areas in the state until further notice.

Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme gave the directive during a meeting to resolve the Ogwashi-Uku kingship, chieftaincy and land disputes with neighbouring communities in Asaba.

While it particularly banned the disputed areas in Ogwashi-Uku and neighbouring communities, the state government set up a committee headed by the attorney general and commissioner for justice, Mr

Ekemejero Owhoviorole, with the executive assistant to the governor on chieftaincy, permanent secretary, ministry of lands and secretary of the boundary committee and other officials as members to look into all the boundary issues of Ogwashi-Uku and its neighbouring communities with a view of proffering lasting solution.
