NEDC Summons Contractor Handling Project In Ningi Fistula Centre

The contractor handling the construction of some structures at the National Obstetrics Fistula Centre in Ningi, Bauchi State has been summoned to Maiduguri, headquarters of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for an explanation on the project.

NEDC Managing Director /CEO, Mohammed G. Alkali gave the directive Saturday when he led the  management team during an inspection visit to the project site where he blamed the contractor on some of the structure’s specifications.

He stressed the need for the contractor to report to the NEDC headquarters in Maiduguri to give adequate explanations on the delay in the smooth completion of the project in order to rectify whatever anomaly.

He stressed the desire of the NEDC to see that the facilities were put to use as soon as possible.

Alkali further said the commission was desirous of seeing both the surgical ward and skills acquisition centre of the fistula project well equipped in order to facilitate easy treatment and rehabilitation of patients.

The NEDC MD/CEO however commended the management of the Fistula Centre for the provision of healthcare to parents, assuring that NEDC would always support the centre to meet the objectives of its establishment.
