Kebbi State commissioner of police, Bello M. Sani, has presented IGP Group Life Assurance Scheme cheques amounting to the sum of N5.8 million to the families of four deceased police officers, who died in active service in the state.

CP Sani said the presentation, which was held at a brief ceremony in his office at the command headquarters in Gwadangaji in Birnin Kebbi, was the IGP’s kind gesture and magnanimity. It was not compensation for the officers’ lives lost but aimed at supporting their families and boosting the morale of the serving ones to do more in fighting crimes in the state.

He advised the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the token to pursue their academic careers and meet the financial needs of their children.

Some beneficiaries who spoke to journalists expressed their delight over the gesture.
