Bauchi Govt Counsels Nomadic Teachers On Professionalism, Quality Education

Bauchi State commissioner for Education, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim, has charged newly recruited nomadic teachers to demonstrate patience, professionalism and discipline in the discharge of their duties.

Ibrahim gave the charge through the director of Administration and Human Resources in the ministry, Alhaji Abdullahi Bappa, during an orientation workshop organised by the Bauchi State Agency for Nomadic Education (BASANE) for the teachers.

He said patience, sacrifice and dedication were essential qualities for teachers, particularly those posted to nomadic and hard-to-reach communities where some learners might have had little or no exposure to formal education.

According to him, teachers must remain committed to their responsibilities and adopt approaches that engage learners and improve their educational outcomes.

Also, the chairman of BASANE, Alhaji Imamu Adamu Itas, urged the newly recruited teachers to strictly adhere to the ethics and standards of the teaching profession.

Itas reminded them of their strategic role in shaping the next generation, while commending Governor Bala Mohammed for his sustained commitment to the development of the education sector in the state.

Earlier, the secretary of the agency, Alhaji Ahmad Abdullahi Bello, said the recruitment of the new teachers would strengthen BASANE’s efforts to expand access to education across the state.

Bello explained that the orientation was designed to familiarise the new employees with the mandate, structure, policies and operations of the agency, as well as their roles and responsibilities.

In her remarks, the Principal of Government Girls College, Bauchi, and host of the event, Hajiya Hadiza Sagir Ibrahim, encouraged the newly recruited teachers to discharge their duties effectively and wished them success in their careers.

The teachers were trained on technical skills for effective classroom delivery, as well as the ethics and standards of the civil service.
