Army Reaffirms Commitment Against Cultism, Indiscipline In Command Schools

The Nigerian Army has restated it’s commitment against cultism and indiscipline in it’s schools with pledge to eliminating menace through the knowledge gained in the classrooms.

The Commander, Army Headquarters (AHQ) Garrison Major General KA Isoni stated this at the 24th annual graduation of Command Day Secondary School,Lungi in Abuja.

The Commander who was represented by the Director AHQ Education Services Lt-Col S Isa said Command Secondary Schools in line with it motto priorities’ ‘discipline and knowledge’ and charged them to desist from acts capable of damaging the image of the school.

He said ” Knowledge entails all forms of curricular and core-curricular activities which bring about the desired change in the behaviour of learners. Discipline is a sign of effective Iearning, hence Knowledge gained fosters through endurance in various categories of learning. Under the visionary leadership of the commandant this school has become a beacon of educational excellence, specifically in the realm of scientific exploration, development of humanity, aesthetic value, cultural and moral development. Your passion for fostering love of educational and intellectual curiosity among students, combined with your unwavering commitment to providing a nurturing learning environment, is truly commendable.

“Graduands are hereby implored to be good ambassadors of this great learning institution and to desist from any act that would deter her image. Never stop learning and striving for excellence. I heartily congratulate the graduating students of this citadel of learning as it has not been an easy journey”.

He charged the graduating class that though the journey may be challenging but with determination and hard work, great things will be achieved.

He therefore, thanked the teachers and staff for their tireless efforts and unwavering support.

The Commandants, Command Day Secondary School Lungi Lt.Col Lt Col Ovie Akise said the young graduating students passed through the academic system that built them In character and learning and have satisfied the minimum requirement set by the federal ministry of education, by completing the Basic Education Certificate Exams and the Senior Secondary School Exams respectively.

He said the students have been tested by seasoned and astute teachers for the past years and have been found worthy In character and learning.

He thanked the military high command and the teaching and non-teaching staff for their support to molding the boys and girls.

The Commandants while congratulating the graduating students said “I have no doubt in my mind ,that every one of you has the potential required to make Nigeria great, I am privilege to have been your Commandant at this point in time”.

Chairman of the occasion,Dr. Sule Hassan expressed the need to fight cultism through the classroom.
He said a student (citizens) ability to contribute to the growth and development of the nation is through the classroom.

The guest lecturer , Professor Bashir Magaji charged the students to be determined and work hard for their future.

He said “with determination and hardwork, nothing in impossible”
He also urged he students to set clear goals, acquire knowledge, leadership skills and work towards actualisation.
