Buni Meets Traditional Rulers, LG Chairmen Over Youth Empowerment

The Yobe State governor Mai Mala Buni, has met with local government councils, traditional rulers, and relevant stakeholders in order to ensure that people across the state are fully informed about government policies and programmes and are carried on board in their implementation.

The commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Hon Abdullahi Bego disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the meeting.
According to him, the meeting chaired by Mala Buni, at the Government House, Damaturu had in attendance chairmen of local government councils, 14 emirs of the state, other senior government officials and some members of the state executive council.

He said that he will continue to prioritize social support through empowerment schemes and training for youths, women and others, as part of efforts to cushion current socio-economic crisis across the country.

He the meeting emphasised the need for local government and traditional councils to continue to attend to local and community issues in a way that strengthens trust, good neighbourliness, and community cohesion.

Bego said the meeting also stressed the need to provide more avenues for skills and craft training to support young people who want to learn and set up small or medium scale businesses or go into agriculture and food production.
