Assembly Raises Kwara Budget By N217.1bn

Kwara State House of Assembly has approved the supplementary budget of N509.8 billion for the state government.

The original 2024 budget of N292.7 billion has thus been increased by N217.1bn. The budget was considered and approved by the Committee of The Whole during yesterday’s plenary.

While laying the report, the chairperson of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Arinola Lawal, said the budget would be used for capital projects and completion of ongoing and new infrastructure across the state.

Lawal urged her colleagues to support the passage of the budget for the development of the state.
Speaker of the House, Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, thereafter announced the passage of the supplementary appropriation budget after majority of the lawmakers supported it through a voice vote.
