The crisis in the PDP in Delta state has increased following the emergence of two chairmen in Sapele chapter of the party.
The crisis erupted on August 7, 2024 when two factions of the party held parallel congresses, each producing a different chairman.
The incumbent chairman, Chief Godwin Dadi, was re-elected by one faction, while Chief Akpufuoma Pemu was elected by the other faction.
The development has left party members and stakeholders in a state of confusion, with many expressing concern over the implications on the party’s chances in future elections.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the state party leadership are expected to intervene to prevent further damage to the party’s reputation.
