The Inclusive Friends Association (IFA) in collaboration with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) has called for intensified efforts to strengthen electoral inclusion in Nigeria.

The call was made during the Civil Society Organisations Electoral Reform Summit held in Abuja, where key stakeholders convened to discuss the urgent need for reforms that would enhance transparency, accountability and inclusivity within Nigeria’s electoral system.

At the summit, a member of IFA board, Jide Ojo, underscored the importance of the event amidst Nigeria’s ongoing electoral challenges.

“Your presence today underscores our collective commitment to strengthening the democratic process in our country,” Ojo said.

He emphasised the crucial role civil society organisations play in advocating for a more inclusive and transparent electoral system.

The summit is aimed at fostering collaboration among CSOs engaged in electoral reforms, ensuring that their efforts are coordinated and impactful.

Ojo highlighted persistent issues such as voter disenfranchisement, lack of accessibility and inadequate transparency, which continue to undermine the integrity of Nigeria’s elections.

He urged participants to collaborate in developing innovative solutions and forging strong partnerships to address these challenges effectively.
