“That’s why I am committing to a more transparent term. Insurance agents are diverse, dynamic and full of talent. Why then would we shy away from sharing with them our plans and what’s going on? I’m committed to inclusive decision-making and a collaborative team. I believe that any officer that is elected must be accountable,” he noted.

Promising to also work on encouraging members to get to know one another better, enjoy themselves more and ultimately build greater commitment to the association, he pledged to provide a wealth and breadth of knowledge by getting speakers from diverse and interesting fields to increase outreach and reputation.

“I also wish to explore the possibility of moving some impactful trainings online. This would allow agents in capacity building to be more confident in their discretion and services.

“Furthermore, we must ensure that the agency continues to improve, is supported and expanded, with agents being consulted on its reform and direct application in the Insurance Reform Bill. I believe that agents should be able to voice their concerns and opinions on any matters through a referendum system.”

Other executives elected are vice president, Ajayi Folashade (Leadway Assurance); general secretary, Adegbuyi Adebola of Custodian Insurance; assistant general secretary, Uloko Sunday (Mutual Benefits Assurance); public relations officer, Ogunwuyi Kayode (Mutual Benefits Assurance); social director, Odetola Julius (Tangerine Insurance); financial secretary, Usalo Felix (Heirs Insurance); treasurer, Odunlami Daniel (Mutual Benefits Assurance); auditor, Blessing Nweke, (Heirs Insurance) and legal, Eze Chinonso.
