Senator representing Yobe South senatorial district in the National Assembly, Ibrahim Bomai, has donated N20 million cash, 5,000 pieces of blankets, 5,000 fabrics and 5,000 children clothes to victims of recent flood disaster in his constituency.
The items and cash, according to the Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory, would be distributed into the five ward of his constituency with each getting N4 million naira cash, 1,000 pieces of blankets, 100 pieces of fabrics and 100 children clothes.
A committee set up for the purpose headed by Alhaji Idi Jugujugu has started delivering the relief materials to the people affected by the flood disaster in Chukuriwa, Nangere, Yarimaram, Dogo Nini, and Bare-bari Bauwalailai wards in the senatorial district.
Senator Bomai commiserated with the victims and prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the incidents.
One of the beneficiaries who chose not to be named expressed gratitude for the kind gesture, noting Senator Bomai as a man with unusual and unique ways of collaborating with the people.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has sent officials to all the affected areas to assess the situation with the bid to provide relief materials to the victims as well as assist with their rehabilitation.
