Gombe State governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has reassured the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) of his administration’s commitment to completing the long-awaited Gombe State Press Centre project.
Our correspondent reports that Gombe State NUJ is the only one in the country without a secretariat and has been operating for years without office.
The governor through his media aide, Isma’ila Uba, pledged to complete the abandoned NUJ office in a congratulatory message to the newly elected NUJ executives in the state.
He acknowledged the union’s concerns regarding the project’s completion and pledged to address them promptly.
“We are aware of the importance of a conducive environment for journalists to perform their duties effectively. I want to assure you that we are committed to seeing the press centre project through,” he said.
