The North East Development Commission (NEDC), has reaffirmed its determination to deepen development interventions across communities of Taraba State to improve basic infrastructure and the livelihood of the people.

The state coordinator of the commission, Mallam Adamu Lawan, gave the assurance while receiving the chairman of Jalingo local government, Hon. Dantsoho in Jalingo.

Mallam Lawan said the NEDC would continue to deploy its resources and interventions towards addressing critical development challenges confronting communities in the state.

He explained that the commission’s projects were not arbitrary but were being implemented within the framework of its statutory mandate and the North East Stabilisation and Development Master Plan (NESDMP).

According to him, the master plan provides a strategic framework for driving sustainable development, reconstruction, rehabilitation and socio-economic recovery across the North East region.

He also assured stakeholders in Taraba that the NEDC would sustain its development drive across the state, while encouraging continued collaboration with local authorities and other relevant stakeholders.

Earlier, the chairman of Jalingo local government area, Hon. Dantsoho, commended the Commission for projects, which he noted are already transforming communities across the state.
