Sen Ndume charged the youths in the Ngoshe, Warabe, and Gwoza areas in Gwoza local government when he paid a humanitarian visit between Saturday and Sunday and made cash donations to the youths, women, CJTF, and elders in the areas.

The senator who was responding to an outcry from some youths at Ngoshe that the terrorists were taking over their farms and harvesting crops, urged the youths to emulate communities in Zamfara State that mobilised themselves and killed over 30 bandits terrorising them.

However, he expressed joy over rising farming activities in Gwoza despite threats from Boko Haram terrorists, noting that from Bokko Wiza in Pulka village to Ngoshe in the Gwoza local government area, a great number of farmers were seen cultivating their farmlands.

He urged the people to take their destinies in their hands and ensure that the terrorists threatening them and their farmlands are subdued and a great number of people engaged in farming activities.

“I am excited to see that farming activity is going on from Wiza to even after Ngoshe. This could not have been achieved without the efforts of the State Governor, Babagana Zulum and security agencies, especially the Nigerian military.

“Just two months after the suicide bomb attack in Gwoza town, the people can be seen going about their daily activities without fear. The people’s outcry now is to the federal government to increase security presence in Gwoza, and take the fight to the Boko Haram terrorists so that those of them in the Mandara mountain that are very weak now can be cleared, and if the federal government likes, they can withdraw the forces and allow the police and others to hold ground and allow civil authority to return,” Ndume said.

He commended Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum for resettling 11 communities that were displaced by the terrorists in Gwoza, saying that about a year ago, there was nobody in some of the communities, but today the displaced persons have been resettled.

While in Warabe in Pulka area of Gwoza, the senator assured the people that government would ensure that electricity is brought to them , adding that the 500 units of housing estate under construction by the state government in Wala, a neighbouring community will be extended to them to ensure accommodation to all.

He commended the people for resisting three attempts made by the terrorists to infiltrate the community, and warned the terrorists to know that their time is up , saying that it is either the terrorists surrender, or they will be crushed.

“The terrorists should know that their time is up. It is either they surrender or they will be killed. If they come to harvest our crops , we are going to harvest them. The people have promised to go back to the farm now and during the dry season farming. All we want is for the federal government to support them,” he added.
