The arrest of the herbalist popularly called Suleiman Makeri, a resident of Mallam Nura ward in Numan town followed a complaint of sexual abuse by one of his clients, a 22-year-old, who went to seek traditional medication.

According to the survivor (name withheld), who spent almost a week in a ward constructed for patients in his residence, the herbalist sexually abused her after administering an intoxicant scent that made her unconscious.
