The meeting, held on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, who is currently on an official visit to China, also included the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

Following the discussions, Lokpobiri spoke to reporters at the State House, assuring the public that the fuel crisis would soon be resolved.

He stated that the NNPC has sufficient fuel supplies to meet national demand.

Lokpobiri also urged Nigerians to remain calm, adding that increased availability of petroleum products would foster competition and drive down prices.

He further emphasised that the government was not responsible for recent hikes in fuel costs.
