The Yobe State Commissioner Ministry of Higher Education, Prof. Mohammed Bello Kawuwa, met with heads of tertiary institutions and their Directors of entrepreneurship centers to review performance, update strategies and introduce Life Skills, Employability, Entrepreneurship, and Financial Literacy modules for graduating students.
Prof. Kawuwa has while speaking during the meeting, which took place at his office in Damaturu, commended the institutions’ efforts and reiterated the ministry’s commitment to transforming higher education under Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration.
The commissioner said prioritization of life skills among other entrepreneurial modules in the institution remained vital in the quest for graduating employable and self-reliant grandaunts.
Kawuwa who highlighted some of the achievements recorded especially in leadership training, entrepreneurship instructor training, and hosting the Joint Consultative Committee on Education plenary meeting among others stressed the need for more efforts for better results.
During the meeting, a proposed document for implementing the new modules was presented while observations and contributions on how best to ensure effective implementation strategies were entertained.
The Permanent Secretary Alhaji Modu and Directors of the ministry attended the meeting.
