Speaking with LEADERSHIP at the weekend, Atoyebi said the new polytechnic inaugurated at the weekend in Ogun state came into existence because of the desire to provide technological education.

Atoyebi explained that the institution’s management was highly concerned about the need to provide solutions to Nigeria’s technological needs. Hence, there is a desire to be part of the strategies towards bridging the country’s technological needs by training graduates who will consequently be part of the national technological assets.

Emphasising that technology and innovation are paramount for the institution, coupled with the zeal to equip a new generation of inventors for a new Nigeria, Atoyebi further disclosed that First City Polytechnic remains dedicated to empowering students with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to excel in today’s dynamic and ever-evolving world.

“As a leading polytechnic, we pride ourselves on offering hands-on, industry-focused education that prepares our graduates for real-world challenges. The School also encouraged parents and guardians to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to give their wards a promising future.

With the new institution, Ogun State has consolidated its lead as the state with the country’s highest number of higher institutions.

Available statistics show that the state has 20 public and privately funded universities and 12 public and privately financed polytechnics.
