All contracts to be awarded by the Kebbi State government must henceforth follow due process.

Governor Nasir Idris stated this during a two-day training for procurement officers of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the state, held in Birnin Kebbi.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability towards the award of any contract by the government in the state.

The governor however praised the Due Process Office for its integrity and diligence, observance of the principles of law, order and transparency in its operations.

He advised the participants to fully comprehend the objectives of the workshop, address all issues encountered and consult with senior management, including commissioners and permanent secretaries, where necessary, for optimum performance.

Chairman, Kebbi State Price Intelligence and Public Procurement Bureau (Due Process), Muhammed Garba disclosed that the training was aimed at ensuring that the MDAs’ procurement proposals were within the approved budget.

He recalled that Governor Idris, due to his transparency in governance, has received the Procurement Compliance and Good Governance Award, 2024 by the Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria for his adherence to best practices and procurement processes.
