The test is targeted at guiding the government in reappointments and in ensuring a merit-based measure to school leadership, promoting dedicated and sound leadership in schools.

Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education in the state, Zainab Musawa, disclosed this in Katsina while briefing newsmen on the state’s performance in the 2024 National Examination Council (NECO) exams.

Musawa explained that the ministry also plans to reintroduce mandatory prep classes for all final-year students with special coaching in Mathematics and English language subjects.

While emphasising the recent performance of students in the NECO exam, the Commissioner said the state ranked sixth in the number of students who passed the exam with five credits and above, including Mathematics and English, which she described as a staggering achievement.
