Cultural counsellor, Embassy of China and director of the China Culture Center, Nigeria, Mr Yang Jianxing, has said cultural cooperation and exchange can strengthen ties between China and Nigeria.
He spoke at the mid-autumn festival organised by the Chinese government in Abuja.
The cultural official who was responding to suggestions of the director-general of the Department of International Cultural Relations, Ministry of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Nigeria, for joint film/TV productions and partnership in fashion designing, said Nigeria and China can learn a lot from each other.
“Nigeria and China have wonderful rich cultures and long histories. They also have diligent and smart people. I think we can learn from each other.
“Nigerian people are very positive and natural. That is something Chinese people can learn. On the other hand, Chinese people are self-controlled and disciplined as taught us by Confucius, whose many teachings formed a great part of our culture, that made us who we are today.”
