Efficient Service: Yobe Trains 3,950 Newly Employed Graduates On Administrative, Technical Skills

As part of efforts to boost the capacity of the newly employed staff, the Yobe State government has organised one week training for the 3, 950 graduates recruited and posted to various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the state.

The Head of the Civil Service, Hamidu Alhaji M. Alhaji has while declaring the training in Damaturu said the measure organised in order to ensure that the newly employed graduates have the requisite knowledge required to run the affairs of their various areas of responsibilities.

Hamidu stated that the administration of Hon Mai Mala Buni has since inception been working round the clock towards ensuring that the state has the best workforce, especially that some of the experienced hands have been retiring after putting in 35 or mandatory 60 years of service.

The HoS disclosed that the recruited graduates which consist of Degree, N.C.E and Diploma certificate holders employed in line with the principles of Federal Character policy of fairness where every local government of the was given a slot said the measure was also in tandem with the development pursuit of governor Mai Mala Buni.

He said, “The exercise was indeed conducted in tandem with the policy of fairness and carrying all components of the State along in developmental pursuits of the present Administration led by our visionary leader, His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, the Executive Governor of Yobe State who graciously granted approval for the employment of the new staff.

“This training is imperative in our drive to inculcate in the new workers the essential skills, knowledge and values in discharging their responsibilities for the attainment of optimum results.

“This training is being conducted as part of a holistic capacity building in the State and is also being held in the three Senatorial headquarters to suit the large number of the new employees and the present circumstances.

“The trainees are expected to be well equipped with administrative and technical know-how before they are assigned suitable responsibilities for the attainment of organizational goals in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

“It was also meant to provide a comprehensive understanding of Civil Service structures and functions, equip participants with the essential skills in communication, team work, problem-solving and decision-making, instill a commitment to service excellence, integrity, transparency and accountability, expose participants to legal, ethical and regulatory frameworks, foster a sense of belonging and dedication to Public Service among civil servants,” Hamidu stated.

The permanent secretary Establishment Office of the Head of Service, Alhaji Shuaibu Ibrahim Amshi stated that the employment and subsequent approval of the training by governor Buni clearly indicated his concern towards enhancing the succession plan in Yobe state.
