In a statement issued yesterday, he highlighted Abbas’s role as a leader dedicated to bridging divides and promoting inclusivity across Nigeria’s diverse communities.

The commendation, which reflects the views of over 50 lawmakers, described Speaker Abbas as a “detribalised Nigerian” known for his dedication to nationalism and nation-building.

Junaidu emphasised that Abbas’ leadership in the House of Representatives has transformed the legislative body into a symbol of unity and progress, where the voices of all Nigerians are heard.

“Speaker Abbas has been unwavering in his pursuit of national unity and inclusivity,” Junaidu stated.

“His tireless efforts to promote a sense of belonging and patriotism among all citizens are commendable, especially in these critical times for our nation.”

Junaidu noted that Abbas’s leadership style—centred on collaboration and consensus-building—has fostered a more harmonious and productive legislative environment.

His commitment to ensuring that all members of the House, regardless of background, feel included and valued has set a new benchmark for effective leadership.

The statement also highlighted Abbas’s stance against divisive tendencies and his focus on the development and growth of Nigeria as a unified entity. Junaidu said his ability to build consensus among lawmakers from various regions and backgrounds is a testament to his leadership acumen and vision.

“As Nigeria continues to navigate the challenges of nation-building, Speaker Abbas’s penchant for unity and progress is a beacon of hope,” Junaidu concluded.

“His legacy will inspire future generations of leaders, and his work fostering a united and prosperous Nigeria will undoubtedly cement his place as one of the country’s most transformative speakers.”

Junaidu called on all Nigerians to support and commend Speaker Abbas for his continued efforts to build a more inclusive, united, and prosperous nation.
