Ahead of the October 9 local government election in Plateau State, leaders of the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) have expressed their resolve to win the election.
They stated this during the flagged off of local government election campaign rally held in Dengi Mini-Stadium, Kanam local governments of Plateau State.
APC state chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature, said they have received a lot of decampees from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other parties in Kanam local government of the state.
Bature said the new members have boosted the chances of the party in the scheduled council election across the state.
Leader of APC in Plateau State, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, called on eligible voters in the state to come out en masse and cast their votes for APC on Oct 9.
Lalong who was represented by the APC 2023 governorship candidate Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda advised party supporters to be loyal and peaceful during the election.
Meanwhile, member of house of representatives from Pankshin, Kanam, Kanke federal constituency, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi said, “People of Plateau are fully mobilised for victory in this election and we are not giving room for PDP to win even a councillorship position.
Gagdi argued that it is impossible for PDP to win any election in his local government Kanam also declared that it will be impossible for anyone to rig the October 9 local government election .
“I said so because APC has more visible infrastructural development in Kanam than PDP. I’m therefore calling on PLASIEC to conduct a free and credible election.
Gagdi warned, “APC and the people of the state are ready to resist any form of rigging from PDP. We will resist such an attempt because Plateau belongs to APC and nobody can alter that advantage,” he said.
