The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ilorin branch in Kwara State has produced its first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The Ekiti State- born Barrister Ronke Adeyemi from the Ilorin branch of the NBA, was among the new SANs inaugurated on Monday by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

Adeyemi thus becomes the first resident female legal practitioner in Ilorin and a member of the Ilorin branch of the NBA to be so honoured in the over 50years of the existence of the branch.

A product of the University of Benin, Adeyemi was called to Bar in 1993 and has been practicing in Ilorin since 1995.

She was the vice chairman of NBA, Ilorin branch from 2007 to 2009 and the chairperson of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Kwara State branch from 2014 to 2017.
