The solar-powered borehole, according to Barr. Babayemi Olaniyan, the visioner and convener of the foundation, is one out of series of other community projects so far executed by the NGO across communities in the FCT and Nasarawa State.

While inaugurating the borehole, Pastor Philip Olubakin of Supernatural Life Church thanked God for using Barr. Olaniyan to put smiles on the faces of the less-privileged and urged Shapekete Community to not only protect the water facility provided for their community but rededicated their lives to God.

According to Barr. Olaniyan: “I am a co-founder of Lehi Social Impact Foundation which is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Lehi Social Attorneys, a law firm in Abuja, Nigeria’’.

Speaking in an interview with journalists, Olaniyan explained that „the event (inauguration of borehole) is one of the projects that I and my foundation have embarked upon as our contribution to nation-building and service to humanity.

„We have been involved in many projects: In December 2023, we carried out a project at the Wuse General Hospital tagged ‚Christmas…‘ We gave items to children on admission (patients) as well as nursing mothers and expectant mothers. We also renovated dilapidated baby cots; we also donated adult bed.“

The lawyer added that the foundation had last year built and donated to Akwaita Community in Nasarawa State, a tastefully equipped three-classroom block with both teaching and learning equipment as well as furniture and two toilet facilities.

Barr. Olaniyan explained that the foundation recently extended her humanitarian services to FCT Environmental Sanitation Personnel referred to as Street Sweepers and donated cash and food stuff to them in appreciation of their importance to the society. Speaking, the village head of the community, Mr. Dauda Yellow on behalf of the entire community, expressed gratitude to God for using Lehi Foundation to transform the community and thanked Barr. Olaniyan for his kind gesture to the community.
