Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Road, Hon Adedayo Samson Adewale, has described the ongoing massive road projects in Osun State as unprecedented.

Speaking with newsmen in Osogbo after his inspection tour of ongoing road projects across the state, Adewale said that Governor Adeleke has opened the door for economic prosperity for the state.

According to him, even with the roads already completed by the Adeleke-led administration, Osun residents already feel the impact of accessible access roads and the outright removal of gridlocks in urban cities.

He noted that Osun will be open when all the ongoing road projects are completed, and investments in all economic sectors will be boosted. He added that Osun, as an agrarian state, will enjoy easy transportation of agricultural proceeds, reducing the cost of food items.

He commended Governor Adeleke for completing the unfinished road projects embarked on by his predecessors, adding that even without obtaining a Kobo loan, Adeleke has invested everything, including his security votes, in the speedy development of the state.

The SSA aligned with the engagement of Osun State Transport Management Service (OSTMS) by the Adeleke-led administration against the NURTW as the best way to go, considering its economic benefits to the state.

According to him, while various transport unions, especially the NURTW, make their returns mainly to the federal government, OSTMS, on the other hand, helps boost the state’s internally generated revenue.

“Since we suspended the operation of NURTW, the state IGR has improved. The transport ministry is vital to the state after all,” Adewale contended.
