In a statement, the Beninese singer, affectionately referred to as Mama Africa, expressed her excitement, stating, “Once upon a time on the seashore. The ‘JOY’ video with Davido, directed by master Dammy Twitch, is out now!

“We received such overwhelming love for this song that we wanted to celebrate JOY once more with you! Thank you to all the inspiring individuals both in front and behind the camera.”

Additionally, Kidjo has kicked off her annual music tour, returning to Carnegie Hall to celebrate her remarkable 40-year career. The tour features selections from her latest project, African Symphony, alongside a repertoire of songs that have defined her legacy.

Arrangements for the evening are by Derrick Hodge, known for his collaborations with Robert Glasper and Common, and will include hits from legends like Miriam Makeba and Fela Kuti, with special guests from across the African diaspora and beyond.
