The management of Wesley University Ondo has revealed that they have secured approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, and other new programmes at the undergraduate level for the 2024/2025 academic session.
A statement issued by the NUC, signed by the acting director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Girei, on behalf of the acting executive secretary, dated September 30, 2024 (NUC/AP/P32/VOL.11/79), revealed that expert panels conducted resource verification visits to assess human and material resources for the proposed programmes at Wesley University, Ondo State.
The approved programmes include Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPhysio), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), B. Sc. Anatomy, B. Sc. Physiology, B.HIM Health Information Management and PGD, M.A, M.Phil, and Ph.D. in Theology.
The programme’s approval marks the fulfilment of one of the university’s strategic goals under the leadership of Rt. Rev Prof. Samuel Sunday Obeka aimed to establish and commence new academic programmes at the university’s permanent site.
The Vice-Chancellor thanked the Methodist Church Nigeria for its support and congratulated the university community on this achievement.
