A tribute personally signed by the president praised Prof. Oloyede as an “astute administrator, educator, author, and scholar” whose contributions to academia and public administration have significantly impacted Nigeria’s educational landscape.

The president highlighted Prof. Oloyede’s achievements as the former vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin, where he introduced innovative ideas that elevated the institution to new heights.

Of particular note is Prof. Oloyede’s tenure at JAMB, where he has served as Registrar for the past eight years.

Tinubu also commended the professor’s dedication to imparting knowledge and character to thousands of students throughout his academic career.

He said, “Through patriotic dedication and commitment to his craft, Prof Oloyede imparted knowledge and character to thousands of students who underwent his teaching during his glorious and impactful academic career.

“Indeed, the bedrock of development lies in education. Developing nations, including Nigeria, are in dire need of more scholars like Prof. Oloyede.

“His selfless sacrifices and innovative approaches to learning and leadership give hope for a brighter future.

President Tinubu lauded the professor’s transformative leadership, citing his implementation of reforms and technological innovations that have made Nigeria’s admission process more transparent and credible.

The president also praised Prof. Oloyede’s commitment to financial integrity and accountability in public service.

Under his stewardship, JAMB has transitioned from a traditionally non-revenue-generating agency to a consistent contributor to the national treasury through efficient financial management.

As a professor of Islamic Jurisprudence, Oloyede was also recognised for his efforts to propagate the Islamic religion.

President Tinubu expressed pride in Prof. Oloyede’s accomplishments and gratitude for his service to the nation.

He joined academic community members, students, JAMB staff, and well-wishers in celebrating the scholar’s 70th birthday, praying for his continued health, wisdom, and strength to serve Nigeria in the years to come.
