The family of the late Ohinoyi of Ebira land, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Mohammed Sani Omolori, has called on Governor Usman Ododo to intervene in the property disputes that have lingered for many years in the family.

The rest of the family is alleging that the former clerk of the National Assembly, Ataba Sani Omolori, has used his position to relegate other family members to the background regarding the sharing of the property of the late monarch.

According to a petition to the governor, which was also copied to the office of the president, the vice president, the chief justice of Nigeria, the inspector-general of police, Abbas Mohammed Sani Omolori, who signed the petition, accused the police of compromise.

According to them, the case of bringing the former clerk to justice has been frustrating for some time at the LifeCamp Magistrate Court, calling on the CJN to look into the matter.

He said that upon their father’s demise, some of his landed documents were declared missing by family members.

Abbas said in the petition, “Sir, we cherish family bonds beyond wealth, which made elders remain calm in spite of anomalies experienced, but the last children, who were between 3 and 10 years old when our father died, are seeking their rights.

“The then Emir of Suleja, a good friend of our father, was in charge of land allocation in the 1970s, when FCDA was not fully operational. He offered three lands to our father. Alh. Saka AbdulRahim (Alive) offered our father land in industrial, residential, and commercial plots in the 1980s.

“While the then FCT Minister, Gen. Jeremiah Oseni (RTD), offered two plots and two contracts just before our father’s death, this is common knowledge among those of us who are of age. Ataba Chiroma took them all without the family’s consent.

“The case was reported to the then minister of justice, who wrote to the IG as per the attached copy of Appendix I. The police officers told them that FCDA and CAC would not respond on time to their letter seeking information; hence, the investigation was truncated.

“Abuja Grand Khadi set up a committee to resolve the matter at the family level, but as usual, Ataba Chiroma refused to attend meetings called by the committee. The most credible Sharia Court judge, Justice Ado Muktar, was accused of hatred for Chiroma.

“Life Camp Abuja Magistrate Court ordered police to investigate the matter, and after several frustrations, the attached police report speaks for itself Appendix II. For the past three years, the case hasn’t been heard in court.”
