Bauchi PDP Youths Endorse Damagum For Substantive PDP Chairman

A group, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Coalition of Critical Youth Stakeholders, in Bauchi State has endorsed acting national PDP chairman Ambassador Umar Ilya Damagum to emerge as substantive PDP national chairman.

Chairman of the coalition Sagir Sardauna at a press conference in Bauchi yesterday, called on all lovers of democracy, especially under the party to put their differences aside and rally round the Ilya Damagum to effectively coordinate the activities of the party.

The call, according to the group, encompasses all PDP registered members, supporters and well-wishers, including membership of PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), National Working Committee (NWC), PDP Governors Forum, National Assembly Caucus, Leaders, Other Critical Stakeholders, as well as all other organs to lend credence to Ambassador Umar Damagum leadership.

The group further appealed to all PDP inclined able-bodied to also support the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Ondo, Osun and Anambra states respectively.

The group further said: “Damagum has been a member of PDP since 1998, and remains consistent and totally committed to the success of the party. It is on record that Damagum supported the 2023 PDP presidential candidate wholeheartedly before, during and after the primary election against all other aspirants.

“Damagum won Yobe state for PDP and for the first time in history, PDP won the state. All those who are shouting at Damagum lost their polling units, some supporting Labour Party candidates while some APC candidates in their respective states.”
