Poet and Social Commentator, Sodiq Alabi has released his second poetry anthology titled ‘Deaf Birds & Frozen Frames’.

Published by Servhage the collection, a finalist in the 2025 Brigette Poirson Literature Prize, is a poignant exploration of migration, exile and the quest for identity.

Speaking of the publication, Editor, OlongoAfrica, Salawu Olajide said, “it is a sincere lamentation of a pilgrim tossed in a serious dilemma of dislocation but stays hydrated with memories. Alabi’s unconvoluted language has roots in the tradition of African griots.”

For award-winning poet and academic, Sadiq Dzukogi describes it as resonating with “raw honesty and lyrical grace, inviting readers to contemplate the complexities of existence and the unwavering pursuit of home in a world in constant flux.”

Alabi’s works have featured in several literary journals like the Kalahari Review, Konya Shamsruni, Praxis and Servhage. His first poetry collection, ‘The Texture of Air’ (2015) received critical acclaim.
