This followed a motion on matters of public interest brought by the Majority Leader of the House, Mr Suleiman Yakubu Azara, during the proceedings in Lafia.

The majority leader said the vote of confidence passed on the speaker was due to his commitment to members’ and staff’s welfare as well as the development of the legislative institution.

He said Mr Jatau had demonstrated openness, accountability and diligence in handling his responsibilities.

He noted that the speaker has brought unity among members despite belonging to different political parties, adding that such quality is rare among political leaders.

“We have seen sincerity, integrity, unity, transparency and accountability, and our staff are now working diligently under your watch.

“Mr Speaker, you are a unifier, a man of peace, humility, justice, and development, and you have provided all-inclusive leadership to us,” he said.

He assured the speaker of the members’ unwavering support and loyalty in his relentless effort to steer the arm toward growth and development.

Responding, Mr Jatau appreciated the lawmakers for the vote of confidence passed on him.

“I will continue to do my best to unite and bring everybody along irrespective of our religious and political differences,” he assured.
