The National Directorate of Employment, (NDE) office in Kebbi state has engaged 30 unemployed school leavers on modern skills in order to reduce the rate of unemployed persons in the state.
Speaking yesterday when he flagged off the training scheme at Magajin-Rafi model primary school, Birnin Kebbi, director general of the NDE, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo explained that the training which is under special public works department (SPWD) is to create decent jobs to unemployed youths particularly school leavers and drop-out by training them skill acquisitions especially modern such as plaster of pains (POP), interlocking and horticulture soft landscaping.
Represented by the NDE coordinator in the state, Alhaji Haruna Suleiman, the DG said the directorate, over the years has the zeal and mission to reduce the number of unemployed youths through skills acquisitions which selected some numbers in the state to train them particularly on modern skills.
According to him, the selected 30 participants were drawn from the local government areas of kebbi north and central senatorial zone in the state.
He charged them to be committed and dedicated them during and after the training which at the end the directorate will provide them with equipment’s to enhance their entrepreneurship.
The participants will spend one month on the training after which will be provided with equipment to enhance their entrepreneurship.
