11 Insurance Firms, MDs Receive Commendation On Innovation, Impacts

No fewer than 11 insurance companies and chief executive officers(CEOs) were commended by Almond Production for their innovation in products and service delivery and impacts they made in the insurance industry.

To this end, the concerned insurers and operators won in different award categories at the 2024 Almond Insurance Industry Awards #Reinvent Edition which took place in Lagos recently.

At the end of the Suspense Filled Night, Leadway Assurance Company Limited emerged Winner in the General Insurance Company of the Year Category while the likes of AIICO Insurance Plc, and Noor Takaful clinched Life Insurance Company and Takaful Insurance Company of the Year for the second year running. Goxi Microinsurance won Microinsurance Company of the Year even as Insurance Brokers of Nigeria (IBN) won Insurance Broking Company of the Year.

In the individual category, Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, MD/CEO of REX Insurance Company Limited won the Insurance Woman of the Year, while Mr. Kayode AwogboroMD/CEO of ARK Insurance Brokers was crowned Insurance Broker of the Year. Valentine Ojumah and Sir Ogala Osoka were awarded the Insurance Life Achievers Awards for their contributions to the Insurance Industry.

Similarly, Modupeola Dallass – Olusanya received the 2024 Special Recognition Award. The most coveted Award of the Nite, Insurance CEO of the Year went to Tunde Fajemirokun MD/CEO of AIICO Insurance Plc. Quiet and Unassuming, Fajemirokun has brought a lot of innovation to AIICO Insurance Plc since he became MD/CEO.

The keenly contested Awards this year recorded over 10,000 from stakeholders within and outside the Insurance Industry.

Some of the criteria used to judge winners this year were: Financial Strength of Companies (Assets & Shareholders Fund), Gross Premium Income, Claims Payment/Speed, Corporate Social Responsibility as well as Brand Visibility amongst others for the Companies. For the Individual Categories, Length of Service and Contributions to the Industry, Performance of the Company they lead, and Strong Leadership Skills.

The Award event, which featured top-rated Nigerian Entertainers in Comedy, Music and Dance-Drama was well attended by Insurance Operators.

In attendance also were Industry Leaders from across critical sectors of the nation’s economy.
