Several former state governors were in attendance to celebrate with the Kwankwaso family. They include Lucky Igbinedion (Edo), Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi (Zamfara), Isa Yuguda (Bauchi), Obong Victor Attah (Akwa Ibom), Chief Achike Udenwa (Imo), Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna) and Adamu Aliero (Kebbi State).

A former minister, Ali Pantami, Emirs from Katsina and Kano captains of industries, diplomats and business moguls as well as political associates, among others, graced the occasion

Also, prominent Islamic clerics, including the national leader of the Izala Movement, Sheikh Bala Lau, and his right-hand man, Sheikh Kabir Gombe, attended the wedding.

Governor Yusuf served as the guardian of the bride and gave her hand out in marriage to Engr Fahad Dahiru Mangal, the son of Katsina-based business magnate, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal.

The Kano Chief Imam, Professor Sani Zahraddeen, performed the solemnisation on Saturday where the dowry was announced as N1 million before the leading witnesses including the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

The marriage had been reported to have been rescheduled earlier to allow the bride to complete her study as a medical doctor.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Government House Kano which was attended by dignitaries present at the wedding.
