The senior special assistant to the president on students’ engagement, Hon. Asefon Sunday Dayo, has urged Nigerian students to remain resilient amidst the challenges they face.

Asefon, who stated this in celebration of the 2024 International Students’ Day, also promised continued efforts to empower students through various initiatives.

He enjoined all Nigerian students to remain diligent, resilient, and committed to their studies, as this administration is determined to celebrate and empower the leaders of tomorrow.

According to him, this year’s theme, as adopted by his office, “Celebrating Academic Excellence for Sustainable Development,” underscores the vital role education plays in shaping a prosperous and sustainable future.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unwavering commitment to education and youth development, as demonstrated by the establishment of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, removal of tertiary institutions’ staff salaries from the IPPIS, reversal of the 30% deduction from institutions’ Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), amongst others.
