There have been incessant killings, kidnappings, communal disturbances and other restive activities within the local government area in the last two years, which has resulted in the deaths of several persons in the area.

The state government and the local government area have set up local vigilante outfits to curb the menace, but the activities of the hoodlums and youths of the area have remained unabated as killings have continued to go on in the area.

CSP Nwede expressed dissatisfaction with the recent attacks on various communities in the state, especially the Ivo local government area, by some criminal elements, adding that the situation has become a source of concern and worry to the state government.
